Seminary Classes

Potential Church, in partnership with New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (NOBTS), offers a certificate program for church members and church leadership. Those enrolled in the class will be registered as students of NOBTS.

The certificate program consists of eight 5-week courses. The classes are pass/fail, and students must attend four of the five weeks to get full credit. Classes may be completed in any order, and students enrolled in the program may proceeds at their own pace. Upon completion of the eight classes, students will be presented with a Biblical Ministry Certificate from the seminary. Taught by Dr. David Lema, these classes are engaging and designed for those who wish to “dig deeper” in the Bible or explore church leadership opportunities.

All classes are pass-fail. YOU MUST ATTEND FOUR OF THE FIVE WEEKS OF EACH COURSE IN ORDER TO GET CREDIT. Courses do not have to be taken in any particular order.

Course #2 – Baptist Doctrine

Class Time

Each course meets on Thursday evenings from 7pm-10pm, Potential Church, Room 126 at our Cooper City campus.

Is childcare available?

Yes, free childcare is available during class.

Registration

Official registration begins the first week of the course. Registration table will be open beginning around 6:15 that evening, right in front of room 126 at the Cooper City Campus.

Although registration will take place the first week, we will continue to keep registration open for the second week, for those who might have to miss the first week. As long as you can attend the remaining four weeks, we can register you on week 2.

Graduation

If you only need one or two of the above-mentioned classes in order to graduate the program this spring, please email me so I can send you the graduation paperwork. It must be completed by Feb. 15.

Cost

Cost for the courses will continue at the rate we had last fall. Each five-week course is a total of $65, a discounted rate for Potential Church attendees. (Those who are not Potential Church attendees will pay $165 for each course). Registration can be paid by check (made out to Potential Church), money order, or cash (if bringing cash, please try to bring exact amount if possible). For those of you who’ve taken the classes in the past, there is now no need to make out two separate checks for church and seminary; the church will take the full check and then pay the seminary from the payments received.

You may also volunteer to kick in another $5 for the course to help us offset the cost of the snacks provided each week for the students of the seminary class.
